Kicks Off Again
Editor’s Note: WLUK FOX 11 did not air in its regularly scheduled time slot at 9 p.m. on June 13, 2015. We do not have an analysis of FOX 11’s coverage of the Clinton rally.
Bias by Omission is when reporters ignore facts that reflect negatively on liberals, or disprove liberal claims.
We’re allowing you to compare the news coverage by three Green Bay news stations reporting on Hillary Clinton’s first big campaign rally which was held on June 13, 2015. The rally was held ten weeks after Clinton launched her presidential run. WBAY ABC 2 was the only station of the three to mention that Clinton announced her candidacy 10 weeks ago and this was her first major speech. None of the three stations which also include WFRV CBS 5 and WGBA NBC 26 reported critically on the Clinton campaign event.
WBAY ABC 2 was the only station of the three to mention that Clinton announced her candidacy 10 weeks ago and this was her first major speech.
None of the three stations which also include WFRV CBS 5 and WGBA NBC 26 reported critically on the Clinton campaign event. There was no mention of the fact Clinton has been at the center of several recent controversies since announcing her run for the White House including the fact that she hasn’t made herself available for media interviews; as well she staged her small intimate campaign events to date with so-called average voters who turned out to be Democrat activists. There was also no mention of the email scandal, Clinton Foundation scandal, or Benghazi in the reporting.
WBAY listed in its coverage the so-called accomplishments which Clinton is claiming on the campaign trail. The accomplishments including sitting in the situation room when Osama bin Ladin was killed, and Clinton’s claim that she “stood up to Russian President Vladimir Putin”. There were no details provided as to how Mrs. Clinton “stood up” to Mr. Putin who went on to wage war and steal territory from a neighboring country.
WGBA NBC 26 aired a sound bite of Mrs. Clinton saying “Democracy cannot be just for billionaires and corporations.” NBC 26 failed to mention that Mrs. Clinton is a one-percenter. Her family income puts her in the one percent of earners in America; as well, her ties to Wall Street are well documented. While critics point out the hypocrisy, the mainstream media is engaging in a black-out of such criticism.
WFRV CBS 5 downplayed the news that Mrs. Clinton has been in hiding for much of her 10 week campaign thus far outside the several staged events with Democrat activists and supporters. Even liberal pundits have questioned Clinton’s strategy of hiding out.
Critics point out Clinton took cover after the Clinton Foundation controversy broke and mainstream news outlets such as The New York Times and Washington Post picked up the story. Critics say Clinton has limited her campaigning in recent weeks in an effort to avoid questions from un-vetted voters and reporters over the Clinton Foundation scandal and the other scandals.
Instead of outlining the situation accurately WFRV’s anchor reported on the Clinton rally with some spin. WFRV reported: “Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign intensifying – the Democratic front runner held her official presidential kickoff on Roosevelt Island.” …
